KUALA LUMPUR: Members of the cabinet, old and new, conveyed their condolence messages online following the death of Tun Rahah Mohamed Noah, who was wife of Malaysia's second prime minister.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz offered his condolences via social media.

"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. It's sad to hear about the loss of Tun Hajah Rahah binti Tan Sri Haji Mohamed Noah. I convey my condolences to Allahyarhamah's family, and may she be placed among the faithful," said Tengku Zafrul on Twitter.

Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa shared this in a tweet at 4.55pm today.

"Innalillahi wainna ilaihi rojiun, with deep sadness, Tun Rahah Mohamed Noah has returned to the Creator just a while ago.

"May Allah grant strength and patience to the family and may Allah SWT bless her soul."

Former Human Resources Minister M. Kula Segaran also conveyed his condolences to Najib and the family.

"My deepest condolences @NajibRazak and the entire family over the passing of your beloved mom Tun Rahah.

"I hope the cherished memories can ease the pain of your loss," said Kula Segaran on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Rahah's nephew, Datuk Seri Hishammddin Hussein described her as a lovely, caring, kind, and strong person.

"Tun Rahah Mohamed Noah was an auntie who I was close with, I grew up under her care.

"When the late Tun Abdul Razak passed away, Tun Rahah was only 43-years-old. I am impressed on her tenacity on raising my five cousin brothers' on her own.

"I had often visited her in the past few months including yesterday. I could not describe my sadness in words when I found out that she had left us forever. I am having the same feeling as when my mother passed away six years ago," said Hishammuddin, who is foreign minister.

Senior International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali also offered his prayers to Rahah and her family.

He conveyed his condolences to Rahah's eldest son, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, the former prime minister.

"I received a sad news on Tun Rahah Mohamed Noah, the widow of the second prime minister the late Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, who has returned to Allah.

"I pray that Allahyarhamah's sould will be granted with blessing and maghfirah (forgiveness) from Allah as well as husnul khotimah (a good ending).

"Condolences to Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the Allahyarhamah's family," he said.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar expressed his condolence to Najib over the death of Rahah.

PKR president, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, also conveyed his condolences through a Facebook post.

"I just received the sad news that the wife to former Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, Tun Rahah Mohamed Noah, has gone to meet her Creator.

"My condolences to Najib and family. I am also saddened (by this news) and pray that her soul will be blessed."

Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said: "May Allah place Allahyarhamah among the pious and granted her the highest level of blessings.

"May the family of our former prime minister be granted with strength from Allah during this test upon the death of his beloved mother. Al-Fatihah," Zahid said on his official Facebook.

On Twitter, former Human Resource Minister and Ipoh Barat member of parliament, M. Kula Segaran wrote:

"My deepest condolences @NajibRazak and the entire family over the passing of your beloved mom Tun Rahah. I hope the cherished memories can ease the pain of your loss."

Umno veteran Tan Sri Syed Hamid Syed Jaafar expressed condolences to Najib and his family.

"May Allah bless her soul and place her among the righteous. Aamiin. Al-Fatihah."
