GEORGE TOWN: Doctors have successfully reattached the left wrist of a woman, which was chopped off by her husband early this morning.

The operation at Penang Hospital took about 15 hours.

Doctors are monitoring her condition to see whether her wrist can function normally.

The 24-year-old woman’s right leg was also fractured in the attack.

A source said the woman’s 39-year-old husband was extremely jealous and was angry when she decided to continue her studies at a medical college.

“The suspect also accused the victim of having an affair with a man for the past two years,” the source said, adding that the couple have a son and a daughter.

“It is learnt that they are in the process of getting a divorce. The son is with the suspect while the daughter is with the mother.”

The suspect had attacked the victim at the parking lot of the Bayu Nyaman Flats in Bayan Lepas.
