MELAKA: A healthy mix of affordable housing and luxury developments will encourage the growth of balanced communities in Melaka.

State Health, Sports and Anti-Drugs executive committee deputy chairman Datuk Ng Choon Koon today also urged developers to not only focus on building highly profitable luxury homes, but also affordable ones to meet the needs of the people.

“I always encourage the growth of residential developments in Jasin. However, there needs to be a balance between luxurious and affordable homes.

“This will encourage a well balanced community within the township,” he said after the launching of BJB Heights Residences in Bandar Jasin Bestari here, today.

BJB Heights Residences today showcased Phase One of their latest development, which will feature modern double-storey bungalows. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2020.

Phase One, which includes three different bungalow designs named Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond will be showcased first, followed by Phase Two by end of this year.

The units are priced between RM750,000 to RM 1.2 million with a gross value of RM103 million.

According to Handal Group chief executive officer Sony Tay, all nine units of the Diamond bungalow houses have been sold, while the Sapphire and Emerald units have attracted wide interest from buyers.

“Bemban is the most strategic spot for us to develop because it has all the banks, malls and schools nearby.

“The prices that we offer are very reasonable compared to other areas in Melaka and we are the only residential area in Jasin that provides facilities such as a swimming pool, gymnasium and basketball court,” he said.

Datuk Rospandi Leman, who was among the buyers present this morning, placed his booking for an Emerald bungalow after touring the show house.

“The design of the house is a huge attraction to me and on top of that, the location is away from the industrial zone.

“The price range is also quite reasonable compared to other developments in Melaka,” he said.
