YAN: A 42-year-old man was seriously injured when he slipped and struck his head a rock, knocking him unconscious at the Kampung Perigi waterfall here today.
The man, identified as Mislan Shazlan, from Puchong, Selangor, was believed to have been climbing a boulder when he lost his footing and slipped.
A State Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said rescuers from the Yan station were dispatched to the scene upon receiving a distress call about 1.46pm.
He said the rescuers took about 40 minutes to carry the victim out on a stretcher before he was rushed to Yan Hospital.
"The victim suffered serious head injury during the fall," he said.
