KINABATANGAN: One person was killed and two others injured when their car plunged into a ravine along Jalan Kota Kinabalu-Lahad Datu, early this morning.

Jeffrey Lim Kee Wong, 29, died at the scene. The two injured were identified as Rosliana Solong, 23, and Samsul Salahudin, 43.

The car was travelling from Beluran, headed towards Mile 32 of Jalan Labuk.

The accident occurred at about 2am. The driver is believed to have lost control of the Perodua MyVi, which skidded and plunged into the 30-metre-deep ravine.

“Three people were trapped in the car. Our team of five firefighters pulled them out but one of the passengers was pronounced dead by a medical officer who was at the scene.

“The injured victims have been taken to the Beluran Hospital for treatment,” he said.
