SUBANG JAYA: The television news presenter who had highlighted his encounter with two rude cops provided his statement to police at the police station tonight.

A patrol car once turned up at his house today, following his complaint in a letter-to-the-editor regarding the rude conduct of the policeman on patrol.

This time, the individual said police had instructed him to visit the SS17 police station tonight to provide his statement.

The complainant showed up at the police station at around 10.50pm to provide his statement as requested.

In the letter, the television presenter alleged that the incident took place last Tuesday when he was returning home after completing his midnight news programme.

One of the two policemen patrolling his residential area in Subang Jaya, he said, displayed unprofessional behaviour and was rude and arrogant during the inspection.

On Sunday, Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the two policemen from the motorcycle patrol unit (URB) involved during the inspection had performed their duties according to the police guidelines.

He said both have also lodged police reports over the claims that were highlighted by the television presenter, in his 30s, via a letter to the-editor that was published.

Wan Azlan added that the reports were lodged as the policemen felt that the claims made against them were not true and that it had affected the image of the country's police force, especially Subang Jaya police.

Earlier, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail pledged that the investigation into the complaint will be conducted thoroughly and impartially.

He emphasised the necessity of a comprehensive investigation, stressing the importance of gathering information from both parties involved rather than relying solely on one side's account.
