KUALA LUMPUR: A Pakistani man pleaded guilty in the Sessions Court today to two charges of raping and robbing a woman at knife point at the Serdang KTM pedestrian bridge two weeks ago.

Unemployed Muhammad Mudasar, 23, made the guilty plea after the charges were read out to him in the Urdu language before Judge Dr Syahliza Warnoh.

The charge read that he had raped a local woman aged 29 and put her in fear of death or being hurt by pointing a knife.

It was reported that the victim worked as a part-time promoter at a shopping centre in Putrajaya and was on the way home when the incident occurred.

The charge under Section 376(2)(b) of Penal Code carries a maximum 20-year jail term and whipping.

He was also charged under Section 392 of the same code with robbing the victim of her iPhone SE dan RM80 cash at knife point on the same pedestrian bridge.

For this offence, he faces a maximum of 14-years jail and a fine or both.

He had committed the two offences at 12.45am on Jan 14.

In the same proceedings, Muhammad Mudasar was slapped with another charge of gang robbery with a fellow countryman named Muhammad Waqas, 29.

They had robbed a 20-year-old woman of her Samsung A03 dan Iphone 11 worth RM2,070 at knife point at 11.15pm on Dec 30 last year at the same place.

Muhammad Mudasar pleaded guilty while Muhammad Waqas, who cried after the charge was read out to him, claimed trial.

Deputy public prosecutor Anis Hakimah Ibrahim, who handled all the cases, urged the court to set a near date for the sentence on Muhamad Mudasar.

She did not offer bail on both accused.

Judge Dr Syahliza agreed with the applications and set Feb 26 for facts of the case and sentencing.

The court did not allow bail on both accused, who were unrepresented.

On Jan 17, Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner A. A. Anbalagan said two suspects were arrested and remanded for their involvement in both incidents.

Investigations revealed that one suspect entered the country in August last year and the other had been in the country for six months.
