KUALA LUMPUR: Police have advised the sexually harassed victim in Damansara Damai, Kota Damansara to come forward and file a report in order to aid with the investigation.

Petaling Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Mohamad Fakhrudin Abd Hamid said one of its officers had lodged a police report based on a viral video that was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user @MALAYSIAVIRALL.

"The video clip shows a woman being sexually harassed by a man riding a motorcycle while engaging in an indecent act.

"The incident is believed to have occurred in the Kota Damansara area. Upon verification, it was found that no police report had been filed by the victim," he said in a statement today.

In the video, the woman appeared to be jogging around a residential neighbourhood when she was approached by a man on a motorcycle, who then struck up a conversation with the victim.

"And then (after patrolling the area several four times) he returned. This time he stopped right in front of me. I was petrified and shaking at the time," the woman described the situation.

The police said that the case is being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code.
