KUALA LUMPUR: Police have seized six boxes of marijuana-infused brownies worth RM21,000 and marijuana worth RM166,000 in two separate raids.

City acting police chief Datuk Yahaya Othman said a 19-year-old college student was arrested while transporting 6kg of the brownies during the first raid, which was conducted on March 25 between 5pm and 8pm in Jalan 9 here.

"The suspect has no past criminal record. We are investigating where he obtained the cannabis.

"We believe he has been selling the brownies for about three months. Preliminary screening showed that he tested negative for drugs," he said in a statement today.

Yahaya said in the second raid in Subang Jaya, which took place from 9pm on March 27 to 5am on March 28, a 31-year-old Indonesian man was detained.

"The authorities discovered that he had stored 56kg of marijuana in a container that was buried 1m underground.

"They also seized 1kg of syabu worth RM26,000. The suspect, a gardener, has no prior convictions but tested positive for methamphetamine.

"The total value of the confiscated items was RM213,000."

Yahaya said both suspects have been remanded for seven days from the date of arrest under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for possession of drugs.
