SHAH ALAM: Police arrested a man and seized more than 8,000g of marijuana in two raids on condominium units in Damansara, Petaling Jaya on May 4.

State police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the drugs were valued at RM25,300.

At 11.30pm that day, a team from the Damansara police station and the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division of Petaling Jaya police raided a condominium unit in Damansara where they found 6,149g of marijuana and arrested the man, who is a restaurant helper.

"Following the arrest, the suspect cooperated with the authorities and directed them to another condominium within the same vicinity, where another 2,000g of marijuana was discovered."

The suspect, a single man with no prior criminal record, tested positive for THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the active ingredient in marijuana.

Hussein said the drugs were for distribution in the Klang Valley.

In addition to the drugs, police also seized a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle valued at RM7,000.
