TENOM: Independent preacher Firdaus Wong Wai Hung revealed today that he sighted several lewd text messages and pictures, allegedly sent by celebrity preacher Ebit Lew via Whatsapp to a victim's mobile phone.
Firdaus, 39, told the magistrate's court here today that he personally saw the material when he met the complainant and her husband after they lodged a police report on Aug 7, 2021.
"One was a voice note from Ebit Lew telling the complainant: "Show your leg a bit (Tunjuk kaki sikit, tunjuk kaki sikit)".
"Another text message read "Ask your husband to divorce you, I will pay you" was also sent through Whatsapp.
"I also saw pictures of male genitals shared in the conversation between the complainant and Ebit Lew," Firdaus, who is also the Multiracial Reverted Muslim founder-president, said.
Firdaus made the revelations when responding to Deputy Public Prosecutor Zahida Zakaria's questions in front of Magistrate Nur Asyraf Zolhani during the sexual harassment trial involving Ebit Lew, or Ebit Irawan Ibrahim, 37.
Lew arrived at the Court in a black four-wheeled drive car with his lawyers at 9.50am to attend the proceedings today.
Ebit is facing 11 charges related to sexual harassment, including for insulting a 41-year-old woman's dignity at the Tenom district.
He allegedly sent obscene texts to the victim's number through Whatsapp between March and June last year.
Ebit was charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code which carries a prison sentence of up to five years or a fine or both if convicted.
