SANDAKAN: Police have solved nine crime cases here with the arrest of six people during a series of operations.

The cases involve burglaries and robberies which were carried out during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri period.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azhar Hamin said those arrested are locals and foreigners, aged between 21 and 36.

“Following their arrest, police confiscated 32 items believed stolen and used for carrying out crime. (We also seized a) Perodua Kancil.

“All culprits also tested positive for syabu,” he said at a press conference here.

Among items seized were bags, wallets, debit and credit cards of various banks, jewellery, branded shoes, a knife, a screwdriver and car tyres.

Mohd Azhar said the culprits had broken into neighbourhood houses, a tyre shop and the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

One of the suspects was arrested for armed robbery which caused injury to his victim.
