SEREMBAN: Two men cheated death when a lorry collided with a car and caught fire at north-bound Kilometre 264 of the North-South highway, last night.

In the 10.45pm incident, the lorry driver, in his 50s and the car driver, 28, managed to escape from their vehicles almost unscathed after the accident.

Seremban 2 Fire and Rescue chief operation officer, Mohd Suhaimi Baharom said the accident took place after the lorry driver lost control and hit the back of the car.

He said the department received the emergency call at 10.46pm and six firemen and personnel were dispatched to the scene.

"When we arrived, the lorry's front and the car's rear were already destroyed in the fire. We took about 15 minutes to control the blaze," he said.

Mohd Suhaimi said the victims sustained light injuries and were sent to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital for treatment.
