KOTA TINGGI: A mother and her three-month-old baby were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a tanker lorry near Taman Sri Penawar here this morning.

The woman's husband, who was driving, and their two other children who were sitting at the back, were injured. The lorry driver was unhurt.

A Johor Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the woman, 27, and her baby, who were sat in the front, were stuck and needed to be extracted from the car using specialised equipment.

"The victims were confirmed dead by a medical officer," said the spokesman.

It is understood that the accident happened as the family was returning home.
