SHAH ALAM: The overall flood situation in Selangor has improved as of this morning.

At 8am, 462 victims are still seeking shelter at seven relief centres, four in Kuala Selangor, two in Klang and one in Kuala Langat.

In Sepang, the flood water has subsided and both the relief centres in the district at Taman Gemilang Hall in Dengkil, and Surau RTB Labu Lanjut have been closed as all victims have returned home.

Flood waters in Puncak Alam have also subsided and the Surau At-Taufikiah centre there has ceased operation as of last night.

Elsewhere, the number of victims from Meru, Klang has also gone down to 129 from 30 families compared to 208 people from 17 families last night.

Flood victims in Meru are now sheltering at Dewan Merak, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Meru in Klang which still houses the highest number of victims.

Other relief centres which are still open are Kampung Parit Mahang Community Hall (115 victims), Surau Ladang Tuan Mee (32 victims), Sekolah Rendah Pasangan, Kampung Asahan (51 victims), Kampung Bukit Kuching Youth Hall (24 victims) in Kuala Selangor, Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Abdul Samad, Kapar (62) in Klang and Genting Sanyen Community Hall (49) in Kuala Langat.

The victims include 13 babies, 28 senior citizens and four disabled people.
