PUTRAJAYA: A disgruntled Kuala Selangor PKR member has lodged a report with the Registrar of Societies (RoS) yesterday, urging it to investigate irregularities involving the party’s Kuala Selangor divisional polls.

Arijan Osman, a candidate for the Kuala Selangor deputy division chief post had also sought the cancellation of the divisional party election which took place at the Batang Berjuntai polling centre on May 11 claiming that it was fraught with fraudulent activities.

He alleged that during the divisional polls, monitoring officials' failed to ensure control over voters as well as appointing divisional staff as intermediaries to cast votes for eligible party members.

The divisional staff he claimed had also been to be supporters of one of the two candidates vying for the divisional head post and had likely marked the ballot papers in his favour.

Arijan also alleged a significant number of inconsistencies involving its electoral roll which saw names of voters miss ing.

The re-election held on June 26, he claimed, was also not conducted according to party election rules.

"This is because they needed a 14-day notice to be issued before a re-election but no such thing was done," he said after lodging his report at the RoS headquarters, here, yesterday.

He adds that candidates representatives were also dis allowed from witnessing the tallying process, while an electrical blackout lasting two hours at the division PKR headquarters had also raised suspicion.

Arijan said he was prepared to be stripped of his party membership and this would most-likely happen after lodging the report and speaking to the media.

Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim lost his post as Kuala Selangor PKR chief to challenger former Kapar MP S. Manikavasagam.

Abdul Khalid received 515 votes while Manikavasagam received 701 votes in the divisional re-election.
