SUNGAI PETANI: There is plenty of fish in the sea, or rather available for consumers for the festive season, according to Fishermen Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM) Mohamad Noor Had.

"We have about 10 tonnes of fish for sale for Hari Raya. This amount has been frozen in case of any shortage and is enough for the northern region including Kedah, Seberang Prai and Penang.

"Fish prices will remain stable and we don't expect them to go up as the demand won't be that great compared to meat like beef or chicken, " said Mohd Noor.

He was speaking at the fishermen allowance presentation ceremony by

LKIM and seminar and awareness programme by Tabung Ekonomi Kumpulan Usahaniaga.
