SHAH ALAM: PKR should stop using others as a scapegoat to continue hiding the truth from its supporters and rivals.

Instead, the party, who is said to face the threat of a chronic internal crisis when its de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in prison, leaving a leadership void without a suitable candidate to replace him, should focus on self-reflection in solving its own problems.

Special officer to Port Klang assemblyman and former PKR party member Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, Faekah Husin said that PKR can forget its tactic of pointing fingers to others whenever a crisis occur and start looking at the cause of the problem—themselves.

“When Anwar was sent to prison, some PKR members took to the streets demanding for the party’s leadership to consider appointing former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad as the de facto leader. Such profound reaction from PKR members and the leaders in this issue show that the party is losing its grip. In fact, it has become desperate than ever.

“While the reaction by its communications director, Fahmi Fadzil to immediately accuse Khalid to be behind this incident is absolutely childish and only highlighted the desperation to cover up their own mistakes,” she said in a statement earlier today.

Faekah added that PKR can’t seem to get enough of the former Selangor Menteri Besar who had resigned from the party during the state’s Menteri Besar crisis where the party’s leadership tried to wrestle the position away from Khalid by forcing him to resign.

“It seems like all the slender thrown at Khalid were not enough to satisfy PKR that they take every opportunity, every internal problem that exist in the party and drag Khalid’s name to these problems as if there were his fault.

“As a renown corporate figure and nationalist, Khalid is highly respected in the society and is known as a person with integrity and responsibility. Thus accusing him of being involved with dirty politics is a true insult to his character.

“We urge PKR to apologize to Khalid for their irresponsible behaviour in this issue,” she said.
