KUALA LUMPUR: Due to popular demand from local Ranger Raptor fans, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) — the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia — announced that the Next-Generation Ranger Raptor is now available with a 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo Diesel engine.

The 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel Next-Gen Raptor is based on the success of the previous-generation, the 2.0L Ranger Raptor, which has a power output of up to 210 PS and 500 newton-metre of torque from 1,750 rpm.

Compared with its 3.0-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 counterpart that was launched last year, the new 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel Next-Gen Raptor comes with the same bold and high-energy exterior as well as interior styling, integrated technologies and advanced safety features.

Engineered as the ultimate Ranger model, it sets a new benchmark as the only factory-built performance truck for high-speed off-roading.

BUILT TO TACKLE

The Next-Gen Ford Raptor successfully completed last year's SCORE International Baja 1000 in Mexico, one of the toughest off-road endurance races in the world. The vehicle used was from the same production line consisting of the Next-Gen Ford Ranger and Raptor seen on the road.

Completing the course in 26 hours and 21 minutes, the Next-Gen Raptor was the only entrant in the stock mid-class category, which showcased the capability of stock road-legal trucks.

MAKING A MARK

A leading innovator in safety and drivability for the everyday Malaysian, Ford has retained a reputation for building high-quality, safe and well-performing vehicles.

In the spirit of living the Ranger Life, Ford wants people to pursue their hobbies and explore the country's diverse landscapes more easily, enhancing their recreational experiences through the Ford Ranger's off-road capabilities.

SDAC's managing director Turse Zuhair, said: "Since we launched the V6 engine last year, the Next-Generation Ranger Raptor has been much sought after.

"Many Malaysians have been asking for different drive trains. We are responding by adding the formidable, tried and tested 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel engine variant to offer another ownership option for Raptor lovers and other high-speed off-roading enthusiasts."

LIMITED-TIME PROMOTION

In conjunction with its launch on June 8, the first 300 bookings of the new model will enjoy a Kenwood DRV-A700W dashcam system, a bespoke Ranger Raptor Winter Vest and a RM500 discount on a Ford Ranger Getaways.

The dashcam system features a Wide-Quad HD front camera and a Full HD rear camera for dual-channel recording. It is equipped with a three-axis G-Sensor designed to detect a collision, as well as a built-in wireless smartphone link to easily manage recorded videos and dashcam settings.

The built-in GPS receiver automatically records driving information and location tracking, while the polarised filter allows for more vivid and clearer images.

Ford will bring the 2.0L Next-Gen Raptor on a tour with the Ford Experience Hub at various locations nationwide from now until Sept 24.

The Ford Experience Hub offers a richer and more interactive experience, allowing Ford to connect better with more customers, prospects and consumers in general. It is also a space where individuals can engage with the Ford brand and their family of Next-Generation vehicles.
