KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and actor Khai Bahar, 30, has strongly denied that he goes to "wild parties".

Khai said that even though he did attend dance parties in the past, he "hardly does so" since he became a full-time singer and actor.

"I admit that I do attend my friends' birthday parties from time to time, but these are hardly 'wild parties' with lots of dancing. The most that I do is sing karaoke with the guests and they include my own family members," said Khai in an interview with Harian Metro yesterday.

Khai also said that he still attended karaoke sessions with young relatives, and sang cover versions of famous songs including his own, in private rooms that they booked for the evening.

"These are hardly wild parties. There is just the few of us and we are family," he said.

Khai added that after his late mother Rosnah Muhammad became seriously ill in 2022, he stopped going to karaoke sessions.

"When my mother became sick, I stopped going to karaokes. I chose to spend quality time with her. I also invited her to karaoke with me in my house once she recovered."

Rosnah died at the age of 62 last January.
