KUALA LUMPUR: Singaporean comedienne Sharul Channa is bringing her latest stand-up comedy special Just Joking! to Kuala Lumpur as part of her annual world tour.

The veteran of 11 years has had sold-out shows all over Asia and Australia, and her feisty, frank and funny revelations on body image, gender, and race sets her apart from many of her peers.

Sharul said in a statement yesterday that in Just Joking! she was letting loose a bit more (for our enjoyment) by sharing about being a woman in her 30s and the results of her latest health check-up!

Formally trained in theatre from Lasalle College of the Arts, Sharul has worked with many notable theatre companies and directors in Singapore such as The Necessary Stage.

She has produced and starred in a range of one-woman character-driven stand-up shows like Potty Mouth, Disco Sheela and Other Indian Superwomen that have filled venues in Singapore, the rest of Asia and Australia.

Sharul also took Just Joking! on an all-India and eventual world tour early this year.

Presented by Laugh Labs Entertainment Sdn Bhd, Just Joking! is at PJ Live Arts, Jalan Universiti, Petaling Jaya at 9pm on May 18.
