POPULAR singer-actor Khai Bahar has teamed up for the first time with singer-actress Marsha Milan Londoh for a special "retro" Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri tune, 'Macam Dulu-Dulu'.

This catchy song, part of Media Prima's ongoing Ramadan and Hari Raya campaign for the year — Raya Macam Dulu-Dulu — made its debut on YouTube and all major music streaming platforms, such as Spotify and iTunes, last March 18.

'Macam Dulu-Dulu' is composed and written by Shazee Ishak and Audi Mok, and produced by Alternate Records & Talents.

In a recent statement, Marsha, 39, said that she was delighted to sing her first Ramadan and Hari Raya song with Khai, whom she regarded as one of the country's best new male vocalists.

"It is an honour to record my very first duet with Khai. We may have shared the same stage many times, but we have never collaborated on a song.

"What I love most about 'Macam Dulu-Dulu' is its references to Hari Raya celebrations of the past and present, and what's good about both of them."

Marsha also said the song resonated with Malaysians of all ages, especially those who enjoy returning to their kampung to celebrate Hari Raya with their family.

Khai said recording a duet with Marsha was a "wish come true".

"Marsha is one of my favourite singers, who acts well in dramas and movies, too.

"I've always enjoyed her performances, especially those in Anugerah Juara Lagu, an annual music event, which both of us have entered more than once."

Khai, 30, added that he had always wanted to perform a Hari Raya duet, as music lovers would remember festive collaborations between their favourite singers for a long time.

"We have lots of evergreen Hari Raya songs, and I never get tired of listening to them. Performing the latest Raya duet puts both of us in the list of Malaysian artistes who have helped create wonderful memories for the festive season."

Khai from Perlis began his singing career in 2016 and is best known for his duet 'Nafas Cinta' with Siti Nordiana.

He has two studio albums to his credit and his best known singles include 'Bayang', 'Luluh', 'Ratuku', 'Durja', 'Oh Wanita', 'Nafas Cinta' (a duet with Aina Abdul) and 'Cinta Syurga' (a duet with Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza).

As an actor, his best known television dramas include 'Shakira', 'Cinta Tiada Ganti' and 'Pinang Durian'.

He won Popular Male Artiste in Anugerah Bintang Popular 'Berita Harian' 30 to 35, and Best New Artiste in Anugerah MeleTop Era 2017.

Marsha from Sabah was discovered in reality talent show 'Akademi Fantasia 3' in 2005, where she finished fourth.

She has two studio albums and her best known singles include 'Sayang' (a duet with Ajai), 'Ilusi', 'Bersama Kita', 'Sudah Ku Temui' and 'Kembali Terang'.

She has starred in the drama series 'KITA', 'My Coffee Prince', 'Rindu Awak Separuh Nyawa', 'Hotel Mania' and 'Korban 44', as well as the films 'Cun', 'Empat Madu', 'Saus Kacang', 'Jwanita', 'Rahsia' and 'Tujuh'.
