KUALA LUMPUR: International K-Pop group BlackPink has hit another milestone by having more than 70 million subscribers on its official YouTube channel.

According to Soompi, the feat has made the popular female quartet the first artiste ever to achieve the envious amount on the online video sharing and social media platform owned by Google.

The group's agency YG Entertainment announced yesterday that it had surpassed the 70 million mark which was an impressive achievement given that the YouTube channel had been around for slightly over five years since its establishment back in mid-2016.

Apparently, Canadian popstar Justin Bieber is trailing behind the K-Pop group at second place with 66.4 million subscribers on the platform.

Meanwhile, BlackPink member Lalisa Manoban a.k.a. Lisa was recently tested positive for Covid-19 after undergoing a pre-emptive test before a video shoot.

According to YG Entertainment, the singer was "without symptoms and in very good condition".

Other group members, Jennie, Rose and Jisoo, as well as production and security personnel had all tested negative.

All BlackPink members were reported to have been fully vaccinated.

Although the Thai-born rapper who has nearly 68 million followers on Instagram has not posted any updates since the incident, fans have expressed their well-wishes for her quick recovery on her social media accounts.
