PUTRAJAYA: The proposed improvements in the upcoming civil servants' remuneration scheme will be among the best to introduced by the government, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said the scheme will also have the "highest financial implication" on the government's coffers.

"The system is among the best to be introduced by the government, with the highest financial implications (thus far involving civil servants' salary scheme).

"There has not been a study on the pension scheme for 12 years," he said in his keynote speech at the townhall session with the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service Association (PPTD), held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) today.

Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, Public Service Department director-general Datuk Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz, and PPTD president Datuk Seri Isham Ishak, as well as some 2,600 association members.
