KUALA LUMPUR: Intan Nabila Idrus has been awarded the prestigious title of "Global Rising Corporate Secretary of the Year" at the Corporate Secretaries International Association Ltd (CSIA) Global Governance Awards. 

CSIA president Datuk Suseela Menon said the awards stand as a testament to CSIA's steadfast dedication to recognising leadership and innovation in corporate governance.

"This highlights our members as the catalysts driving the evolution of governance practices," said Suseela. 

The CSIA held its inaugural awards on April 23 here, supported by one of its founding partners, the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA). 

The event aimed to bring together influential minds and organidations committed to challenging conventional norms and embracing cutting-edge strategies.

The awards featured three prestigious categories: Global Corporate Secretary of the Year, Rising Corporate Secretary of the Year, and Governance Professional of the Year. 

The winners in each category were selected following a process of deliberation by a distinguished international jury of expert practitioners and thought leaders in corporate governance. 

Another two deserving winners in each category were Uto Ukpanah from Nigeria for "Global Corporate Secretary of the Year" and Hong Kong's Gill Meller for "Governance Professional of the Year".
