KUALA LUMPUR: National diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri is relieved to be heading into her third Olympics free of any major injuries.

Dhabitah, who will compete in the women's 3m springboard individual event at the Paris Olympics (Jul 26-Aug 11), has been held back by a number of injuries in recent seasons.

She had to withdraw from the women's 10m platform synchronised event at last year's Fukuoka World Championships due to a wrist injury.

At this year's Doha World Championships (February), she suffered a tricep injury, which hampered her performance.

"Alhamdulillah I am free of injuries, I just have aches and pains here and there, which are normal for athletes," Dhabitah told TV3 recently.

"As long as I am free of any major injuries or problems, I am happy. It is good enough for me."

Dhabitah travelled Down Under last month for a training-cum-competition stint, but was forced to withdraw from the semi-finals of the Australian Open due to a fever.

"Everything went well during training in Australia but I was not feeling great during the competition," said Dhabitah.

"I was able to compete in the preliminaries, but had to withdraw from the semi-finals.

"I had not been abroad for a while and the weather was cold. It was nothing major, I just had a fever and was unable to perform to the best of my abilities in the tournament."

Dhabitah, who is adept at both springboard and platform diving, made her Olympic debut in Rio 2016.

At Tokyo 2020, she did well to place fourth in the 3m springboard individual event.

She is expected to leave for the United Kingdom next week for a two-week training camp with Bertrand Rhodict Lises.

This is to help the duo acclimatise to the weather in Europe before heading to Paris. Rhodict has qualified for the men's 10m platform individual event.
