KUALA LUMPUR: Serial record breaker Melinder Kaur has expanded her horizons to world level.

The former national runner, who has shown endless enthusiasm for doing daunting things, said she is eyeing more milestones after breaking two Guinness World Records yesterday.

At the KL Sports Arena in Setapak, the retired army officer set new world records for the "fastest mile (1.6km) in handcuffs" with a time of 5 minutes 57.34 seconds and "fastest mile on barefoot" with 6:04:87.

The previous Guinness World Record of six minutes and 37 seconds for the "fastest mile in handcuffs" was registered by Ireland's Sandra Hickson

on May 18, 2018.

"It's an honour to break two Guinness World Records in my first attempts," said Melinder.

Notably, the more records Melinder set, the more Malaysians will benefit. Yesterday from her feats, she also raised RM20,000 for underprivileged children through the Gurupuri Foundation.

"I did not do this for fame. It's to help others," she said.

"I will attempt my seventh (record) soon," she added.
