KUALA LUMPUR: Azeem Fahmi led Auburn University to its second-best time ever in the 4x100m at the NCAA Championships in Oregon, the United States, on Thursday.

The quartet of Azeem, Kanysola Ajayi, Dario Matau and Makanakishe Charamba clocked 38.38s to top the heats.

The 20-year-old Azeem believes his team will do better in the final.

After the NCAA Championships, Azeem will compete in the Malaysian Open in Kuantan from June 14-16.

He hopes to qualify for the Paris Olympics on merit.
