KUALA LUMPUR: The competition heated up in the second week of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia last week with King Empire Esports moving into the driver's seat over the weekend.

King Empire Esports displaced Selangor Red Giants at the top of the table after claiming back-to-back wins over Bountee Esports (2-0) and Barracuda Esports (2-0) to now lead the competition with 10 points.

Red Giants are second on nine points after beating three-time champions Todak 2-0 and still have a game in hand.

Team Haq are third overall on seven points after snatching a point from HomeBois (1-2) and beating Monster Vicious (2-0).

Defending champions HomeBois appear to have overcome their slow start to the season after beating Monster Vicious (2-1) and Team Haq (2-1). They are currently sixth in the table with four points.

HomeBois star roamer Zul Hisham Mohd Noor, better known as Xorn, also debuted the new hero, Chip, during their matches last weekend.

The match between HomeBois and Team Haq also set a new record in terms of peak concurrent views, clocking 228,679, which is 37 per cent higher than the record set during season 12 last year.

All MPL Malaysia matches this season are played at the new MPL Malaysia Arena in Serdang Jaya.
