KUALA LUMPUR: Diver Pandelela Rinong will meet with Malaysia Aquatics (MAS) to clarify her statement regarding the internal issue that affected the national divers at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar recently.

The 31-year-old, who did not qualify for Paris 2024, mentioned that she has not provided a detailed explanation as she wants the relevant parties to be informed first.

"I am very disappointed because I did not provide any excuses, but when the media asked, I had to answer without giving a detailed explanation.

"I mentioned that something happened that had a significant impact on us, both senior and junior divers in recent years.

"I have not given a detailed explanation yet because I want the relevant parties to be informed first.

" I have not met with the association to discuss the problem, but I am saddened that an article was released first," Pandelela posted on her Instagram yesterday.

Pandelela's post could be referring to an article quoting MAS secretary-general Andy Low, who claimed the divers were making excuses for their failure in securing Olympic spots in Doha.
