IPOH: Johor’s Norshafiee Mohd Shah may have retained his gold medal in the Malaysia Games men’s high jump event at the Perak Stadium on Sunday but he failed to do better than his winning mark of 2.10m achieved in Sarawak two years ago.

The 21-year-old recorded 2.06m for the title, followed by Sabah’s Eizlan Dahalan (2.03m) and Kedah’s Amer Haiqal Ismail (2.00m).

Norshafiee said he was satisfied with his mark as he was not at his best form.

“It was far off my personal best of 2.15m. I am happy considering that I had to rest for two weeks recently after tearing my leg ligament.

“I will try to regain my form for the Asean University Games in December,” he said.
