KUALA LUMPUR: Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Sultan Ibrahim and teammate Jordan Love showed solid improvement in round two of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia today.

The Triple Eight Johor Motorsports Racing (JMR) duo secured a commendable third-in-class (Pro-Am) finish after completing 27 laps in one hour and 55.010 seconds at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit. They were fourth overall.

Origine Motorsports duo Wei Lu-Laurin Heinrich (Pro-Am) took the overall win (1:00:13.782s) while Craft-Bamboo Racing's Qi Cao-Daniel Morad (Pro-Am) were second (1:00:27.929s) across the line.

Harmony Racing's Jiatong Liang-Kailuo Luo (silver category) were third overall (1:00:48.730s).

Tunku Abu Bakar is optimistic of improving as the season progresses. JMR are running a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo this year.

"I came out after the pit stop on a cold tyre, so it was hard to chase the other cars. But after a few laps, we caught up... unfortunately we just had traffic," said Tunku Abu Bakar.

"We made huge progress today compared with yesterday. So I think we are on a good trajectory for the rest of the season."

The duo had placed 10th overall (seventh-in-class) in the season-opening race at Sepang yesterday.

The third and fourth rounds of the series will be held at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand from May 10 to 12.
