KUALA LUMPUR: The pitch at the National Stadium, often criticised for its poor condition, is in perfect shape for Malaysia's final World Cup Group D qualifier against Taiwan on Tuesday.

In fact, both teams will also have access to conduct their official training sessions on the eve of the clash.

The stadium's poor pitch condition, caused by non-footballing events, frequently takes the spotlight before big matches.

FA of Malaysia vice-president Firdaus Mohamed affirmed that the pitch is in excellent condition and ready to host the official training and match.

"The National Stadium is ready to welcome both teams. The pitch is in prime condition thanks to the maintenance efforts of the stadium operators," said Firdaus.

In March, Malaysia and Oman's official training sessions were cancelled on the eve of their World Cup qualifier due to the subpar condition of the pitch.
