KUALA LUMPUR: KL City FC player Paulo Josue has dedicated his team's first goal of the season to his national teammate Faisal Halim.

Josue marked his 12th minute strike against Kuching City FC at the KLFA Stadium with a 'siuuu' celebration in the style of Faisal after which he showed a message on his shirt which read "be strong".

Faisal, whose nickname is Mickey, was the victim of a vicious acid attack recently which left him with serious injuries. He is still being treated in hospital.

"I celebrated the goal like Mickey because we are all very close to him. We regret what happened to him," said Josue yesterday.

"We want to support him... we want him to know that we are always behind him. This is a small contribution that I can make."

KL City's lead in the match, however, did not last long as Kuching's Pedro Henrique levelled the match in the 19th minute.

The score will remain deadlocked until the final whistle.
