KUALA LUMPUR: Reigning champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) extended their winning streak in the Super League to 12 matches with a 2-0 victory over Sri Pahang at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium today.

At the other end, Pahang's unbeaten run in the league came to an end.

Fandi Ahmad's men put up a spirited fight and managed to hold on until the second minute of added time in the first half before conceding the first goal to JDT's Bergson da Silva.

The security of an additional goal for the Southern Tigers came in the 74th minute through Fernando Forestieri who notched his 13th goal of the season, matching his 2022 achievement with half the season to go.

At the MBPJ Stadium, Selangor played catch-up for most of the game before emerging with a topsy-turvy 3-2 win over Kedah to stay second in the table, eight points behind JDT.

Twice Kedah went in front through Amirbek Juraboev (sixth minute) and Willian Lira (28th), but the Red Giants fought back to draw level twice, through Ayron del Valle (23rd) and Faisal Halim (40th).

The decisive moment came in the 78th minute after Kamil Akmal was shown the red card for a last-man foul on Muhairi Ajmal. Selangor profited from the ensuing free kick with Noor Al-Rawabdeh bundling in from close range after Yohandry Orozco's initial effort hit the crossbar.

At Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, Terengganu edged out Penang 1-0 to clinch all three points, thanks to Engku Nur Shakir's strike in the 75th minute, and climbed to seventh in the league standings.

The other match of the night saw Kuala Lumpur City failing to capitalise on home advantage as they were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly Kuching City.

Ivorian Tcheche Kipre thought he had scored the winner for the City Boys in the 85th minute but Abu Kamara hit the equaliser for Kuching in the third minute of added time.
