WHEN the opponents are "very strong", KL City will be motivated to raise their game.

KL City midfielder Ryan Lambert hopes this factor will make the City Boys deliver their best show of the season in tomorrow's Malaysia Cup final against Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT).

"JDT have had a terrific season, so we know it's going to be a difficult game.

"But the pressure is on them, and we've proven this season that we can compete with them. So, anything can happen," said Lambert.

"JDT are dangerous everywhere. That's why they won the Super League and have been such a prolific team in Malaysia."

Lambert, who is of English-Malaysian parentage, will be appearing in his first Malaysia Cup final.

He said the whole KL team are excited to be part of the momentous occasion, as the city side reached their first Malaysia Cup final in 32 years.

"We are really excited to be part of such a big moment in the 100th year history of the cup.

"We can't wait to go out there and give it our best.

"But it's a little disappointing that we can't have a full capacity crowd at the National Stadium. We will have to make do with whatever support that we have."

Lambert, who formerly played for Melbourne Victory and FC Den Bosch II, joined KL City in April.

He said KL City have shaped him into the footballer that he is today.

"I am really grateful to have come into such a great squad with strong players and amazing staff," said Lambert who scored one goal against Sarawak United in a Malaysia Cup group match.
