KUALA LUMPUR: Negri Sembilan is forced to withdraw from the Malaysia Cup after 20 players and four team officials tested positive for Covid-19.

A Negri Sembilan FC statement today said: "It is with great sadness that we inform four of our officials and 20 players of Negri Sembilan FC have tested positive for Covid-19 and are undergoing the mandatory home quarantine and 10-day observation by the Health Ministry."

Premier League champions Negri dropped out with four Malaysia Cup group matches remaining: against Kedah (Oct 29 and Nov 2), Melaka United (Nov 6) and Kelantan United (Nov 9).

Negri, known as the Deer, lost 2-0 to Melaka United and beat Kelantan United 1-0 in their two Malaysia Cup matches earlier.
