LETTERS: New Year resolutions are a challenge for many of us. But without a challenge, you will become complacent and your resolutions will remain unfulfilled for another year.

Writing down the goals gives you a higher chance of achieving them. Paste them in your room or put them as reminders on your cell phones.

Set realistic and achievable goals. Do not make goals for the sake of making them. Realise why you are making the goals and what you can reap from them.

Tell your family members and close friends about your New Year resolutions, as they can serve as a support system to ensure you stay committed to them. Believe and visualise the benefits that you will reap by fulfilling the particular goal. Let the goals drive your vision and mission.

To have a truly great year, we need to be better people in our professional and personal lives.

Raise your "goodness quotient" embodying the utmost politeness through expressing gratitude with "thank you", using "please" when making requests, and offering apologies when necessary. Be honest, admit your fault and commit yourself to being a world-class listener.

Seek out opportunities to do random acts of kindness, and commit yourself to being the most positive and passionate person that you know.

Do not let the new year merely run its course. Let 2024 be an extraordinary year for you and your loved ones.
