SHAH ALAM: The rollout of two frameworks at the PKR Convention today demonstrates the party's readiness to face the 16th General Election (GE16) and to stay relevant for the next 25 years.

Delegates, when met, said that the frameworks — Kemas16 and Pop25 — offer a structured roadmap for effective preparation, providing clarity and direction to the party's efforts.

PKR Merbok division chief and former Bukit Selambau assemblyman V. Arumugam said: "Furthermore, speeches by the party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and deputy president Rafizi Ramli have already paved the way towards GE16.

"We came here to listen to what the party is up to, and with the two frameworks, it provides a clear direction, fostering trust and alignment as we work towards our goal for GE16."

The Kemas16 (Keadilan Menang Siri Pilihan Raya Umum ke-16) programme is PKR's framework to prepare for and consolidate the party's strengths to face the next general election.

Meanwhile, Pop25 (Pemerkasaan Organisasi Parti 25 Tahun) aims to ensure the party remains relevant for the next 25 years.

Reflecting on PKR's journey, Arumugam remarked on the remarkable transformation from being dubbed a "mosquito party" to becoming a formidable political force.

"The celebration of PKR's 25th anniversary serves as a poignant reminder of how far the party has come."

Another delegate, Vijay Gopal, said that with the clear guidelines now in place, the leadership can effectively monitor and evaluate performance at at division and branch levels.

"This enables the party's leadership to make informed decisions and provide necessary support where needed, ensuring the smooth functioning of the organisation."

Meanwhile, former PKR Wanita chief Fuziah Salleh said briefly, "In a nutshell, we have survived 25 years. (And) we are set to survive the next 25 years, plus another 25 years."
