SHAH ALAM: PKR today rolled out two new frameworks aimed at strengthening and helping the party remain relevant for the next 25 years subsequently ensuring Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will remain as prime minister after the 16th general election (GE16).

Launched by Anwar, who is PKR president, the two frameworks are the Keadilan Menang Siri PRU16 (Kemas16), which is loosely translated as PKR Wins GE16; and Pemerkasaan Organisasi Parti 25 tahun (Pop25).

"The two frameworks will bolster the grassroots strength of the party at all levels. This is to help the party to create a new energy that is ready to fight and win in GE16," PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said at PKR convention held in conjunction with the party's 25th anniversary celebration here today.

According to the party's official pamphlet, Kemas16 will outline preparations by PKR to face the series of elections ahead of GE16 in an intergrated manner.

PKR is setting five targets under Kemas16 to prepare the party for the next general election.

Among them include organising at least four programmes at the grassroot-level by the end of this year and increasing the programmes periodically next year ahead of GE16; reaching to at least 80 per cent of on-the-fence voters using the 'phone bank' method by the end of 2025; as well as training and certifying a 2,000-member communication machinery by the end of next year.

"The programmes (under the Kemas16 framework) would be developed as the main enabler according to the template, measures of progress and the target fixed (under the framework).

"The Kemas16 will be launched at the state-level, subsequently implemented at the divisional level this year."

Meanwhile, the POP25 framework will empower the party and ensures it remains relevant for the next 25 years.

There are five targets set under POP25: increasing the number of party members at the divisional level by 20 per cent; setting-up at least one party division at all polling districts in the country as well as having 20 trained communication machineries at every party divisions nationwide.

The success of POP25, the party said, hinges on the strength and effectiveness of the organisation at the grassroot level which will be developed using structured approach according the template decided by the party.
