SHAH ALAM: PKR Secretary-General Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has called for a swift resolution of the crisis affecting the party's leadership in Sabah.

In his speech at PKR convention in conjunction with the party's 25th anniversary celebration here today, Saifuddin, who is also Home Minister, admitted the party's Sabah leadership is being hit by a 'turbulence' of sorts.

"I salute Sabah (PKR). However, in recent days, there has been some turbulence affecting the party.

"I hope there will be an immediate solution to this 'turbulence'.

"Please do not prolong it," he said.

Saifuddin was referring to the issues affecting Sabah PKR leadership, which languished into crisis after 15 out of 26 division chiefs in the state asked incumbent chairman Datuk Sangkar Rasam to step down.

Despite the call, Sangkar had insisted to stay on when he said the decision on the state chairmanship was the prerogative of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar, during his visit to Kota Kinabalu yesterday, said PKR's top leadership would decide on who will lead its Sabah chapter soon.

He added that more than 10 names have been submitted for the party's top post in the state.
