KOTA KINABALU: About 500 people will attend Parti Bersatu Sabah's (PBS) 39th anniversary event at Hakka Hall on Tuesday.

PBS president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili and founder and premier adviser Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan are expected at the event.

Secretary-general Datuk Julita Majungki said the president's speech would touch on the way forward for the party and remind members of their role to keep the party a force to be reckoned with.

"He will also re-emphasise the importance of PBS' role in Gabungan Rakyat Sabah as the coalition's second largest component member."

Julita, who is organising chairperson, said there would be a seminar on economics earlier in the day.
