KUALA LUMPUR: Umno members have been urged to give the party a chance to explore the current political dynamics, making the survival of the party the utmost priority.
This, deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said, was to give the party's top leadership to prepare the party for the 16th General Election (GE16).
"Give the party a chance to manage and to take one step at a time. We were defeated (in the last general election), yet we were bestowed by Allah SWT to be part of the current unity government.
"This, despite we (Umno) winning only 26 seats, along with seats won by the component parties making it (a total) 30 seats.
"(But) there was a party that won many seats (than us), yet they did not become the government," he said in his winding up speech during the 2022 Umno General Assembly today.
