KUALA LUMPUR: Two Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) women leaders have been chosen to be part of the Cabinet line-up in the unity government led by 10th Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

PKR Women's chief, Fadhlina Sidek, has been appointed as Education Minister, while PKR Party Selection Committee Chairperson Dr Zaliha Mustafa, who is a qualified doctor from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), will be the Health Minister.

In the recently concluded General Election (GE15), Fadhlina, 45, became the Member of Parliament for Nibong Tebal, after she defeated Datuk Mansor Othman from Perikatan Nasional (PN), who was a two term incumbent for the seat.

Fadhlina polled 42,188 votes to defeat Mansor who garnered 25,895, with a majority of 16,293 votes.

Dr Zaliha, 58, is the Member of Parliament for Sekijang in Johor.
