The 15th General Election takes place today, over a month after caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob dissolved Parliament to pave the way for GE15. Barisan Nasional, the country's longest-serving coalition, is hoping for a second surprise victory after losing in 2018.
Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, however, is confident of winning a simple majority to form the government, while Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is aiming for a surprise win.

8:49pm: Victory parades not allowed, say Labuan police
Police have issued a warning that stern action will be taken against anyone who organises or participates in any parade to celebrate their winning candidate in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Labuan police chief Superintendent Ahmad Jawila said the decision was made in the interest of public safety.
8:31pm: Couple on the way to polling centre killed in crash, daughter injured
A man and his wife died, while their three-year-old daughter sustained injuries when the car they were travelling in to go to the polls today, met with an accident at KM46 of Jalan Johor Baru-Mersing here today.
8:22pm: 76.24 per cent of voters in Pandan came out to vote
Approximately 76.24 per cent of 148,120 voters for the Parliamentary constituency of Pandan came out to vote during the 15th General Election (GE-15) here earlier today.
Election Commission (EC) officer-in-charge for the constituency Julaiha Jamaludin said that the percentage was obtained from all 37 polling centres with a total of 248 voting lanes up to 6pm.

Sarawak-based ruling coalition, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), is now leading with 10 from 31 parliamentary seats contested in the state, according to the latest unofficial result.
Based on infographics posted on the Sarawak Public Communications Unit's (Ukas) Facebook page, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) together with GPS's three component parties are leading in Santubong, Serian, Batang Sadong, Betong, Sarikei, Mukah, Selangau and Hulu Rejang.

An Election Commission staff died while on duty at Sekolah ACS Methodist Jalan Raya Barat polling station, this afternoon.
Klang Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong said the 45-year-old was found unconscious on his assigned buggy at the voting centre.

Kedah media troop has expressed disappointment with an Election Commission (EC) staff for preventing media representatives from covering the 15th General Election (GE15) voting process at SK Titi Gajah this morning.
Kedah Elite Media Club's (KMEK) Kumaran Rajamoney said the officer concerned had even pulled the EC's media tag worn by the media reps and took pictures of the passes without their permission.
4:06pm: Half of voters turn up to vote as of 1pm
The Election Commission (EC) has revealed that about half of the number of eligible voters have fulfilled their right and responsibility in casting their ballots as of 1pm today.
This translates into more than 10.6 million voters, as the polls are scheduled to draw to a close by 6.00pm in Peninsula Malaysia and 5.30pm for Sabah and Sarawak.

Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman and Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has made a plea to the people to go out and exercise their right to vote today.

A newlywed couple from Tasek Gelugor here enthusiastically cast their votes after their solemnisation ceremony at a hotel here today.
Amirul Ahmad Annuar and his wife Nurul Izza Soaid, both 31, queued separately for almost an hour at SMK Pokok Sena at noon to cast their ballots for the Tasek Gelugor parliamentary constituency.

3:42pm: Deaths and disruption during polling
A mentally unstable man caused chaos by grabbing an ink bottle and shoving a ballot box at Pusat Daerah Mengundi (PDM), Ulu Yam, Hulu Selangor, today.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the 27-year-old man was said to have grabbed the ink bottle from the officer on duty and pushed the ballot box until it fell.

The Election Commission (EC) has reminded voters for the 15th general election (GE15) not to believe information published on the polling day dress code that will not allow those wearing shorts and slippers to enter the polling station.
Its deputy chairman, Dr Azmi Sharom said voters need not worry because the viral news on the clothing dos and don'ts is fake news.
3:20pm: Voter willing to spend RM40,000 to fly home from Saudi Arabia to vote
Realising his civic duty to vote as a Malaysian, a voter was willing to spend RM40,000 to return to his hometown in Johor for the 15th General Election (GE15) today.

3:01pm: Nonagenarian has voted more than 12 times in her life
"As I could remember, I have voted more than 12 times, but this 15th General Election (GE15) seems different from others.
"As this is my responsibility, I gathered my strength to come and vote to choose a leader," said senior citizen Semek Said, 93, when at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Nilam here today.
Semek, who has 112 grandchildren and great grandchildren from her eight children, said that in the past, voting did not require the need to dip her finger into the ink.

2:25pm: Recovering from knee surgery, Azrizan still went out to vote
Despite having had knee surgery just four days ago, Mohd Azrizan Rahman, 27, still came out to vote at Sekolah Kebangsan Taman Muda.
Mohd Azrizan, who had an accident in January 2018, underwent surgery recently to remove a screw that was inserted to address his prolonged knee pain.
Using a walking stick to assist him, he arrived at the voting station with his friend. He chose not to use a wheelchair as he could still walk using the stick.
2:24pm: Wedding venue become polling centre, couple forced to make last minute switch
A couple who solemnised their marriage at 10 am today are excited to share their wedding day with the voting day of the 15th General Election.
Amiera Nabila Mohd Shahrin, 28, said although the solemnisation ceremony went smoothly, they had to find a new venue for the wedding ceremony as Dewan Kampung Melayu in Kampung Melayu Majidee here, where the ceremony was supposed to be held, was chosen as a polling centre.
2:23pm: Smooth polling process in Baram, say Sarawak cops
The voting process for the 15th General Election (GE15) in the flood-affected areas in the Baram parliamentary constituency went according to schedule, with changes made to the venues of some polling stations.
Sarawak police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Azman Ahmad Sapri said that based on a report by Marudi district police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Ruslan Mat Kib, the police were working with the Election Commission (EC) to ensure smooth polling in the area.
2:18pm: Floods do not deter voters in Sarawak
Voters in the interior of northern Sarawak have been braving the floods to exercise their responsibilities as citizens.
Until noon today, four polling centres in northern Sarawak have reportedly been hit by floods, and voters made their way by boat to the centres.

As of 1.30pm, turnout rate in Titiwangsa is slightly lower than previous general election.

2:08pm: Bersih wants Hadi to be probed for wearing party logo to vote
Bersih has called on authorities to investigate Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Abdul Hadi Awang for wearing a vest bearing the party logo while voting today.
A Twitter user posted a picture of Hadi casting his ballot at a polling station wearing a green vest bearing the Pas logo.
"This is clearly an election offence, to wear any apparel or clothing with a party symbol or logo into a polling centre," FMT quoted Bersih chairman Thomas Fann as saying.
1:56pm: Couple in wedding outfits turns heads at polling centre
The presence of Lee Choy Yoong and her groom Jackie Har, 30, both 30, at the SK Taman Muda polling centre turned heads as they arrived in their wedding outfits.
The couple arrived at the polling centre after the tea drinking ceremony at the bride's house.
Lee said she woke up at 5.30 am to prepare for the wedding ceremony as well as to vote in the afternoon.
1:28pm: KJ urges voters to come out, rain or shine
Barisan Nasional candidate Khairy Jamaluddin called to the people of Sungai Buloh to come out and vote.
"I know that it rained this morning and now it's scorching hot. I understand that the queues are long and people might have to wait for hours in line, but please come out and vote," he said, urging Sungai Buloh voters.
1:10pm: Tioman election on Dec 7
The election for Tioman state seat has been set for Dec 7.
Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh said that this was decided in a special meeting today(Nov 19).
The nomination date has been set for Nov 24 and the early polling is on Dec 3.
12:26pm: Even 'Captain America' casts his ballot
All eyes were on Muhamad Shahrizal Mat Sahat, 35, when he walked into Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sri Aman in Air Itam here to cast his vote in a Captain America costume.
Not only that, Shahrizal also struck numerous superhero poses.
Shahrizal said he decided to don the costume on polling day to cheer the Election Commission (EC) personnels as well as voters waiting in line to cast their ballots.
12:24pm: Sook voting centre affected by flood
A district polling centre here is affected, following the floods in Sook.
After overnight heavy rain, Sook station chief Razlan Aridy said Sekolah Kebangsaan Rancangan Belia Tiulon cannot be used for voting as the road leading to it is impassable.
"For now, it is not passable and the water is overflowing and it's dangerous. The rain has stopped but the weather now is gloomy," he told the New Straits Times.
12:20pm: EC should find ways to speed up voting process especially for elderly
Election Commission (EC) should find ways to speed up the voting process at Sekolah Kebangsaan St Aloysius Limbanak here.
Incumbent Penampang member of parliament Datuk Darell Leiking said one of the voting channels saw higher turnouts which led to long waiting time for the voters.
12:11pm: Sweet treat for inked voters
The breakfast crowd at Choon Guan coffee shop were in for a surprise when those who had voted in the 15th General Election were treated to a free serving of custard pudding.
The owner of Choon Guan, who declined to be named, said they have so far given away 60 portions of its signature custard pudding since 8am today to those who showed off their "inked" finger.
12:09pm: Kuantan voters excited with unique modes of transportation at polling station
Voters who turned up to cast their ballot papers at SMK Tok Sera polling station near here were treated to a rare experience today.
Besides the buggy services, voters had the opportunity to ride on bicycles, electric scooters (e-scooters) and trishaws which were provided by the Kuantan City Council (MBK).
The 'unique' mode of transportations was an instant hit with the elderly mostly choosing to ride on the buggies, youngsters rode on the scooters while some opted to pedal the trishaws and bicycles.
12:07pm: Rain or shine Malaysians opt to vote
Social media platforms were flooded with pictures and accounts of voters today.
Some had begun queuing outside their polling stations as early as 7am, while others braved the rain, minor crawls and long walks to the stations due to lack of parking.
A Twitter user by the name Kak Mira tweeted: "The ballot is stronger than the bullet.
12:07pm: Zahid, Takiyuddin, Radzi among early voters to cast ballots
As soon as the polling stations opened at 8am today, the contesting candidates, including party leaders, were seen arriving early to fulfil their responsibilities for the 15th General Election.
Some of them were seen in the queue with other voters while waiting for the polling station to open.
Barisan Nasional chairman and Umno president, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, arrived at 8.20 am to cast his vote at Madrasah Manbail Ulum in Sungai Nipah Darat, Bagan Datuk, Perak.
At another location, Perikatan Nasional candidate for Putrajaya and Bersatu vice-president, Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin, arrived at Al-Najah Religious Primary School, Precinct 9, Putrajaya at 8.20 am to cast his vote.
12:03pm: EC blamed for lack of facilities in Lembah Pantai
Some heads in the Election Commission (EC) must roll, said Lembah Pantai incumbent Fahmi Fadzil, for lack of preparation at several polling centres.
NST checks found that some voters, especially senior citizens, have began queueing to cast their ballots since 8am.
However, some are still waiting in line as at 11.36am, while some polling agents at the venue are seen putting up signages for voting channels, something that should be done before centres were opened.

The sudden death of Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for the Tioman state seat Md Yunus Ramli early today came as a shock to everyone.
Pahang PN chairman Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah described Yunus as a capable and winnable candidate.
"Yunus was considered a well-respected candidate with potential (to win the Tioman state seat) and it is a huge loss to PN," he told reporters after voting at SK Sungai Talam here today.

GE15 campaign in Titiwangsa was healthy and should be the way forward, said Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.

The voter turnout for 15th General Election (GE15) was at nine per cent as of 9am today, said the Election Commission (EC).
Although voting centres were open from 8am today, people were seen making long beelines to vote as early as 7am.

Pakatan Harapan (PH) took the Election Commission (EC) to task as its official website 'MySPR' for people to check their voting centres for the 15th General Election (GE15) could not be accessed.

Morning rain showers in Seremban did not deter the spirits of this sibling trio casting their ballots for the first time.
Nurhusnairah Mohd Khair, 24, Nurjukhairah Mohd Khair, 22, and Nurrukhairah Mohd Khair, 18 were eager to perform their civic duties for the first time, braving the elements to queue at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Paroi Jaya polling centre.

9:54am: Klang mum and daughter head to polling station early despite rain
Besides the required MyKad, Klang folks did not forget to bring along their unpredictable weather essentials of caps, umbrellas and raincoats to shield them from the rain at the polling station today.
One of them was P. Parimala who cast her vote at SMK Tengku Ampuan Jemaah with her 57-year-old mother, K. Nilakarivandan.
"It has been raining since midnight but I told my mother that no matter what, we must go early to the polling station to mark our votes."

Bride Lauretta Bidi is getting married on polling day, and she is hoping that she will be able to run out of her reception for a while to cast her vote.
The blushing bride is set to vote at Maktab Sabah for the Kota Kinabalu parliamentary seat. Her reception started at about 9am at the St Aloysius Church, which is about 30 minutes away from the polling centre.

Motherly duties did not interfere with Siti Najuwa Azmi's intention of voting in the 15th General Election today.
Siti, 32, was carrying her newborn baby Amar Merican Muhammad Hamizi Merican, into the polling centre at SK Naka in Padang Terap.
Since her baby still needed to be breastfed, she did not have a choice but to bring her 40-day-old baby with her to the polling centre.
"I want to vote but at the same time, I also need to nurse my baby," she said when met at the polling centre in SK Naka today.

An iconic election ballot box with the Malaysian flag adorns the doodle of Google Malaysia's search engine homepage as the country holds its 15th general election (GE15) today.

9:18am: Dr Wan Azizah receives warm welcome from Bandar Tun Razak constituents
Despite the gloomy weather and drizzle, Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was warmly greeted by the constituents when she stopped by at SK Seri Anggerik for the 15th General Election (GE15).
Dr Wan Azizah arrived at the polling station at about 8.50am.
All eyes were on her and screams of "welcome" and "you are the best" could be heard as she made her way to greet the constituents.
When asked where she would be voting, Dr Wan Azizah briefly said: "I will be voting in Permatang Pauh. I will make my move (insha Allah)."
9:13am: Ahmad Faizal sends condolences to Md Yunus's family
Perikatan Nasional (PN) deputy chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu today expressed his condolences for the passing of Tioman state seat candidate, Md Yunus Ramli.
"On behalf of the coalition, I would like to express my condolences to his family. May he be placed among the faithful and righteous.
"Usually when there is a passing of any candidate, the representative of the candidate will take over the seat and we should stick to it at the moment," he said.
