KUALA LUMPUR: A day after Barisan Nasional dropped him as its election candidate, Tan Sri Annuar Musa has revealed that he has another platform to contest in the coming polls.

Annuar, who is the incumbent Ketereh member of parliament since 2013, posted several documents on Facebook that showed he had registered a new political party called Muafakat Nasional in 2019.

Besides the party's registration certificate, Annuar also shared a screenshot of the Registrar of Societies' (RoS) website that displayed a list of officer bearers of the new party.

Annuar was listed as Muafakat Nasional's president, while Datuk Shahrul Nizam Yunos and Wizanie Zerith Shah Putra Shahrul Nizam were the party's secretary and treasurer, respectively.

Annuar's former political secretary and former Sungai Besar MP, Datuk Budiman Mohd Zohdi, was one of the five committee members of Muafakat Nasional.

Other committee members of the party include Annuar's private secretary Datuk Mohamed Azam Ismail and his press secretary Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz.

Tun Faisal, who was also the former Special Affairs Department (Jasa) director, was suspended by the Umno Supreme Council on March 27 last year over an alleged breach of party discipline.

However, a check on the Election Commission's (EC) website found that Muafakat Nasional's logo was not registered with the EC.
