KUALA LUMPUR: Bandar Kuching Member of Parliament Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen and Ketari state assemblyman Young Syefura Othman emerged winners in the Dapsy (DAP Youth Wing) election last night.

Dr Yii is now Dapsy national executive committee chief while Young Syefura is the national deputy chief.

Dr Yii garnered 232 votes defeating his two contenders; Bandar Utama state assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin and Dapsy national secretary Eric Teh Hoong Keat.

Young Syefura obtained 212 votes beating DAP Batu Kitang chairman Abdul Aziz Isa and Alice Lan Suet Ling, who received 169 and 64 votes respectively.

In an Instagram post last night, Young Syefura confirmed Dr Yii's and her victory.

"Alhamdulillah, praise to God for my win, alongside Dr Kelvin Yii in the Dapsy national election today (last night).

"I would like to thank all the delegates who had attended and voted today (last night). Thank you for giving me the trust and also to Dr Yii to lead Dapsy.

"May Dapsy continue to progress and achieve the aspirations that we have planned together.

"Let's unite and work together for the sake of Dapsy and DAP." she said.
