KEPALA BATAS: PAS is keeping mum on the number of seats that it will contest in the 12th Sarawak Election, despite nomination being a mere two days away.

PAS vice-president senator Idris Ahmad, said the actual number of seats would only be known on nomination day.

"We will contest in the Sarawak election. We will wait until Dec 6 (nomination day) on how many seats PAS will contest," he said when met by the media after officiating the Wakaf Short Stay (SSU) at the Kepala Batas Hospital (HKB), here today.

PAS had earlier confirmed that it would contest in the Sarawak election.

Its deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man was reported to have said that although the number of seats was still under scrutiny, PAS would contest in less than 11, unlike the previous Sarawak election.

He said, PAS' participation in the Sarawak election this time was to serve as a yardstick to measure the party's work in the state.
