KUALA LUMPUR: Pas will continue to defend the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government and strengthen the Muafakat Nasional (MN).

Pas central committee member Nasrudin Hassan said the party is confident that PN would continue to remain through the support given by its component parties.

"Insya-Allah (God willing), PN will continue to survive with the support of the PN and MN component parties," he told Berita Harian, today.

Today, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will seek an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara, regarding his position as the prime minister.

The controversy over his legitimacy and PN arose after he is believed to have lost the backing of the majority of Dewan Rakyat members after 15 Umno MPs withdrew their support for him.

Asked if Pas is ready is ready to accept parties in Pakatan Harapan (PH), namely PKR, DAP, or Amanah to work with PN to form a new government, Nasrudin said the matter did not arise.

"Furthermore, PH had rejected supporting PN," he said.
