KUALA LUMPUR: A Year 1 pupil has captured the hearts of many after a video of him buying gifts for his teachers ahead of Teacher's Day, went viral.

Instead of opting for conventional gifts, he decided to purchase jewellery from a renowned jewellery store.

The video, uploaded to TikTok by his mother, @NurashikinDin shows the seven-year-old Hafiy Hadeef walking with his father towards a jewellery store.

The video pans to the various bracelets and necklaces that are up for selection by the pupil.

Hafiy was later seen sitting on a chair diligently looking at the workers wrapping the gifts for his teachers.

"A Teacher's Day gift from Hafiy Hadeef for his teachers, all 10 of them," his mother wrote in an accompanying video caption.

The video has since been shared more than 13,000 times with 62,000 likes.

Teachers' Day is celebrated on May 16 in Malaysia to commemorate the endorsement of the Razak Report, an educational proposal aimed at reforming the educational system in then Malaya.
